Secrets to Making Your Cat Truly Happy

1. Comfort them when they are stressed, scared or unhappy, can be done with talking to them softly and giving treats.

2. They love big spaces and high places where they can see everything that is going on.

3. Let them on the furniture and countertops, the house is theirs. The countertops can always be cleaned.

4. Say hello to them (I was say hello to them when they are laying around and they always respond with a happy "meow")

5. Buy the right toys (every cat is different, but some toys it is a one size fits all, the tiny plush mouse is a favorite in our home)

6. Massage (All of my cats love getting a massage, sometimes that is the only way they will recognize me if I have been gone for a while.)

7. Understand them, understanding cat behavior is one of the ways your cat will be happy. Living with someone that doesn't understand you doesn't make anyone that happy. They will also be willing to communicate with you and tell you their needs, which is the best to make sure they are happy.

   
   

Before having Ragdolls and the other cats I have now. I had a calico and a black and white cat when I was eight years old. From that experience those two cats, I really regretted that I did not understand cats and was unable to understand them emotionally by reading their social signs and expressions.

So before ever starting to raise cats again, I was going to fully understand them and be able to know how to react.

Cats are like kids, they can be psychology traumatized by events. Which could effect them later on. To prevent those events permanently effecting them. It is best to comfort them immediately. So every time I accidentally step on their paw or bump their head, I always give them inaba churu. Depending on how much it hurts I give more. Because I do this, they do not feel effected by this and the next time it happens, they know they are getting a treat. It makes them perceive bad events not as bad.

Every time our cats get scared we will always comfort them. Start soothing them and talking to them. If it is too bad, we remove them immediately from the situation. Having cats before having children has completely trained my ability later if I were to have a kid. I have noticed because we do this with our cats, they are more emotionally stabled.
