About the Ragdoll Breed
This breed is know for being floppy. Which means when picked up the legs and arms go limp. Which is true for most Ragdolls. It is also a breed that needs more attention. This breed really enjoys human interaction than other breeds. They also will not have the other toxic behavior that some cats will show to new cats. My cats see a new cat around, they actually look with curiosity instead. Other breeds would just hiss. They are not much of a territorial breed. They are a very sweet breed that is good with kids, and anyone of all ages. They love being petted and meowing for attention. Their personalities are very similar to Main Coons. You want to have a pet that becomes your best friend Ragdolls are great choice. It is good to have more than one pet to keep them company, because they get lonely easily. They are great with dogs and other types of animals, like rabbits. Can always ask just to confirm, if the type of pet you have or plan on getting isn't mentioned.
This breed is a slow maturing breed. It will take 5 years for them to fully mature to their actual size. Ragdolls have Persian looking ears and look like mix of Persian. This breed will grow bigger than normal cat breeds. The ones that grow biggest are usually the males. But there are females that get pretty big also.
Ragdolls are know for their blue eyes. There is actually degree of blue for each Ragdoll.
All purebreds have a high chance for HCM and other genetic diseases. Because a breeder can only breed with the same breed, making the gene pool smaller and smaller. Making the chances higher. Breeders prevent this by DNA testing their cats before breeding. There is still a small chance of them getting it, so there is a health guarantee contract to protect the owner in case of it happening.
